WordPress 3.0 Thelonious Released
Big news! WordPress 3.0 code named “Thelonious” has just came out and is packed with some awesome new features. This is a big update so make sure, like always, to backup your database and site files before updating anything.
Here are some of the highlights of this new release:
- The “Kubrick” default theme has been replaced with a new theme called “Twenty Ten”
- The merging of WordPress MU allows one single WordPress installation to have Multi-Site capabilities
- Custom post types and taxonomie improved (great for developers making WordPress much more flexible for a CMS website)
- New menu management
- New author template file, for example if the user’s name is Jerome you can create his own author’s page
- Custom background support
- Enhanced security with the login page. When you install WordPress it lets you choose a username and password instead of using the default admin login name
